About Me...
I was born in Holland, grew up in the US and have lived all my adult life in Scotland.
I graduated in classical homeopathy from the Northern College of Homeopathic Medicine in Newcastle in 1986 after 6 years of study and gained registration with the Society of Homeopaths in 1988.
I have been in full time and part time practice now for more than 35 years.
I extended my academic qualifications by gaining a post graduate degree in medical sociology and anthropology with qualitative research from University of Edinburgh 2011.
I have given many talks and workshops in the field of natural health care and am an experienced teacher, writer, researcher, college lecturer and clinic manager. For the past 12 years I have been living on a remote island in the West of Scotland where I farm biodynamically and manage a physic garden and look after a herd of rare breed Shetland cattle.
Most of my work with patients has been in Scotland in Edinburgh and Glasgow. I specialise in mother and baby issues. Infertility and pregnancy problems, childbirth, eczema, asthma, not- thriving, vaccination anxieties, feeding and sleeping problems, behaviour problems, fear and anxiety. Babies and children respond particularly well to homeopathy. Women consult me with conception, menstrual or menopausal issues. Men consult for the health issues they have. People consult me who suffer from depression, anxiety, sleeping disorders, and many conditions difficult to treat conventionally, such as arthritis, ME, gout, shingles, migraines, unexplained pain and many other conditions. Elderly people with their particular health issues consult me also. Teenagers seek help with acne, lack of self- esteem, anxiety and depression. I have also worked for many years with a diverse group of other therapists in multidisciplinary clinics.
I worked as a homeopath in Africa during the Aids epidemic with a charity for a time.
